WHAT WE LOOK FOR

CT Reign stands as a testament to hard work and a positive attitude, values we embrace and expect from our players. We prioritize character and dedication, fostering a team culture where these traits thrive. While basketball holds significant importance in our program, we place an even greater emphasis on character development. Coaches in college or on other teams aren't always looking for the best player - they are looking for players who are leaders on and off the court. Someone who will take charge regardless of how things look, and lead their team fiercely into the fight.

Our team welcomes players from all corners of Connecticut, uniting diverse talents under one cohesive entity. It's worth noting that our practice sessions take place in Wallingford, CT, which serves as our centralized training and meeting hub. This location allows us to provide consistent and structured training opportunities while recognizing the commitment and dedication required from players traveling to our facilities.

2025 TEAMS

This spring was a milestone for CT Reign as we expanded our program with the addition of Boys 12u and Boys 13u teams, complementing our established Boys 14u, Boys 15u, and Boys 16u teams. With regular practices and competitive tournament play, we emphasized growth and teamwork, even making tough roster decisions to maintain high standards. The season was marked by 3 tournament championships and a successful CT Reign All-Star Night celebrating standout performances and community spirit. Transitioning into the Mike Small League for summer, our teams showcased resilience and adaptability, continuing to compete at a high level despite limited practice time and new roster additions.

Looking forward to the Spring of 2025, it is clear that CT Reign welcomes varying talent from across the state. While we would love to welcome all who come and choose to play for us, we understand that this is not a realistic goal. Without access to our own space, we simply lack availability to bring in too many players.

For this reason, we have made the decision to limit each roster to 10 players per team. This is in fairness to all of our players, as we want everyone to have an equal opportunity get in the game, and this simply is not justifiable with teams of 12 or 13 players.

Another change we are bringing into 2025 is Joint Practices. This means that teams of similar age groups will now practice for an extended period of time in the same gym. We made this change due to the inability to run practices with smaller numbers, and to simulate a high school environment. This will allow players to adjust to conditions at the next level. While one may think that joint practices may eliminate reps for players, our coaches will make sure that is NOT the case, and players will have plenty of time to work on their individual games. This process also allows younger players to use the older players as mentors, and older players to take leadership, and demonstrate their abilities to influence players maturing in their skill.
